75 U.S. Mid-Cap Companies With the Highest Free-Cash-Flow Margins in 2026
This screen compares free cash flow as a percentage of sales with 2026 year-to-date performance, five-year price performance, regular trailing dividend yield and market capitalization. It highlights companies converting a substantial share of revenue into cash without assuming that current conversion alone determines investment quality.
Cash conversion is strongest across asset-light and specialized business models
LandBridge leads the screen with an adjusted free-cash-flow margin of 68.98%. Innodata, Scorpio Tankers and Aurinia Pharmaceuticals also exceed 55%, while Hess Midstream, Kanzhun and Dave exceed 50%. The leaders span infrastructure royalties, data services, shipping, biotechnology and digital financial services rather than a single sector.
Banks, insurers, conventional asset managers, REITs, preferred shares and duplicate share classes were removed because free cash flow and sales are not consistently comparable across those structures. Every included company has a market value between $2 billion and $10 billion.

The 75-company free-cash-flow screen
Companies are ranked from highest to lowest adjusted free-cash-flow-to-sales margin. Swipe or scroll horizontally to view every column.
YTD performance uses adjusted prices from December 31, 2025 to October 2, 2026. Five-year performance generally uses adjusted prices from September 30, 2021 to October 2, 2026. N/A indicates insufficient comparable trading history or unavailable validated pricing.
Regular dividend yield includes only recurring dividends recorded during the trailing twelve months through October 2, 2026, divided by the October 2 adjusted closing price. Special and irregular distributions are excluded.
High margins can reflect very different economic engines
Royalty-like economics support LandBridge and Black Stone Minerals, while subscription software and data businesses such as Innodata, Doximity, Qualys, Teradata, Descartes and Dropbox benefit from relatively limited physical capital requirements. Shipping and energy companies can also produce strong margins when rates or commodity realizations are favorable.
The same percentage does not imply the same durability. Investors should distinguish contracted revenue from cyclical pricing, milestone revenue, working-capital releases and unusually low investment periods.
Biotechnology and healthcare require additional normalization
Aurinia, Protagonist Therapeutics, Doximity, Ligand, BioCryst, Harmony Biosciences and Liquidia rank highly, but their cash generation can depend on licensing milestones, royalty receipts, product launches or concentrated portfolios. A strong trailing margin may therefore be less repeatable than the same figure from a diversified recurring-revenue business.
For these companies, product concentration, patent duration, clinical risk and the timing of collaboration payments should be reviewed alongside reported free cash flow.
Regular dividends provide a cleaner income comparison
Hess Midstream and Black Stone Minerals have the highest regular trailing yields in the screen, followed by Clearway Energy, Star Bulk Carriers, Brookfield Infrastructure and Kanzhun. StoneCo and Autohome are shown at zero because their recorded payments were classified as special or irregular rather than recurring dividends.
The regular-dividend filter avoids presenting one-time distributions as sustainable income. Variable regular dividends can still fluctuate materially, particularly for shipping, commodity and partnership structures.
Triple Flag requires an adjusted cash-flow definition
Triple Flag’s standardized data classifies approximately $622 million as capital expenditure, producing a reported FCF/Sales margin of -46.41%. That amount includes the exceptional $440 million Ravenswood streaming acquisition, which is a growth investment rather than ordinary sustaining capital.
The table therefore uses an adjusted 43.93% margin that excludes the Ravenswood acquisition. This makes the operating comparison more informative, but it should not be confused with standardized reported free cash flow.
Cash-flow quality matters more than a single ratio
Free cash flow can be influenced by working-capital timing, acquisition accounting, capitalized development, stock-based compensation and cyclical pricing. A high current margin should be reconciled with the cash-flow statement and compared across several periods.
The strongest candidates are not simply those with the highest percentage. They are businesses able to sustain cash generation, fund necessary investment and allocate the remaining cash without weakening their competitive position.
Important: This is an informational screen, not personalized investment advice. Free cash flow can be volatile and accounting classifications vary between companies. Prices, market values and yields change continuously. Review company filings, cash-flow reconciliation, capital requirements and valuation before investing.
